CONVERSION OF AN OLD SCHOOL INTO A CULTURAL CENTRE, CY

In collaboration with the Cyprian office “D.Loukaides – Mphillipou” for the restoration and refurbishment of the old school in the municipality of Pegeia in Cyprus, our office won the competition and proceeded to the next phase , the detailed drawings. The property consists of two listed neoclassical buildings, constructed in 1926. Both buildings will be restored. The south rectangular volume will accommodate a multipurpose hall, foyers and control room, while the northeast cubic volume will house the library. Another building is added northwest, with offices, conference room, ancillary rooms and a terrace. Blending of hard and soft surfaces, as well as water elements and sitting areas complete the surrounding area concept.
