“DAVERO”: ENTERTAINMENT COMPLEX IN ISLAND OF KOS
The study is about the converting of an existing shopping center of 3200sqm into a multipurpose leisure area with restaurants, cafes and retail shops. Aesthetic improvement and contribution to the buildings sustainability and energy efficiency were the main objects of the design, leading to the introduction of environmentally friendly materials, renewable energy sources and sustainable design. More specifically, we suggested the use of an external wall insulation system that will automatically reduce energy loss, green roofs and tree planting towards the south combined with fixed and mobile sunshade systems of various types, solar chimneys and a water element along the sitting area that will contribute to the cooling effect during the summer.
