Restoration of residential building in a traditional settlement

A restoration study for a building of over 100 years old house with a silkworm breeding area in the traditional settlement of Metaxochori (Silkworm Village) in central Greece was carried out, respecting the buildings architectural elements and its context. The intention of the intervention was to restore the individual elements to their initial stage, and their replacement with similar materials where necessary. The design highlights the initial historic structure, while adapting it to the needs of contemporary living.
